So what is your opinion about this feature?

If you don't know already, Google is making a visual map of everything. http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview

Some don't like that I can type in JB's name and the city he lives into a search engine to find his address or find it on yp.com and put it in google street view and see what his house looks like so I can find the exact places I want to egg.

Here is something good that came from it:

Another thing good about it, when they video your street, is you can link it from your site to help people find you or prove you are a real florist. It would be my luck that they would come by and video about 3pm.. this is when I take my daily leak off my front porch.

That is indeed strange/fascinating. Who took these photos?? When I look up my house, sure enough, there it is with my van in the driveway. Weird thing is I rotated around the court, and saw our neighbors' kids playing on their lawn. How are these pics taken without catching the attention of the kids? They seem completely unaware that someone was out photographing the court.

We've seen the trucks rolling around in our neck of the woods a few times. They have 360 degree cameras on their roofs and drive up and down the streets.

I personally love this feature and usually check it if I'm going to do any deliveries. I used it las weekend when our driver couldn't find a house. I got on and gave him a description and color of the house. It is outdated in some areas (our shop view is a few years old I think) but overall I think its pretty cool.

Wow, Nicole.. that is amazing.

I checked it out last night and WOW! I figured they had to have some vehicle driving down the road taking pictures. I'm just glad my house looked good when they came by. I do wsh they took the photo in the summer when the flowers were in full bloom. They did it in the fall and everything is dying! Maybe I can call them and get them to redo it this summer.

ok how do you get street view? I go to the google maps and they have satellite option but I don't see anything that says street view... i followed daze's link but no luck.

Try this, Aileen:

Type your address in the box at top, then click Search Maps. When the map pops up, there should be a little box on top of it. If "Street View" appears (it isn't available everywhere), click on it. Then you can navigate up and down the street, zoom in and out. Pretty wild.

Thanks Beth....but no street view for my house..YEAH!!!

If I put in my home address it is about 2 blocks off - does show nicely the place I got hit by the car on the bike, but not my house...

I'm just fine with that
