That will likely be the evolution of the Google Places (aka Maps) pages. Google started with local info, then adding social - whereas Facebook was social first, recently adding local via their "Places" listings.

Well not sure how this fits but I been contact by a producer at Magnetic Media in NYC on behalf of Google. They are working in conjunction with google of a series of of short 3 min videos and they spoke with me about the possiblities of featuring Chappell's Florist. I spent 10 mins on phone with them yesterday and the videos they will be shooting will occur in Vermont next week. This is all tied to some big roll out Google has coming.

I am SOOOOO behind on this. Been slammed at the store since July 5 and this week is crazy busy, too. Plus, daughter is playing summer high school basketball and has had 16 games in 11 days so nights and Sundays are filled, too.

The stream is quite until you find your friends and such. I made my florist circle, and hope to add many more of you to it. If you are looking for some interesting people to follow you can check out this story here. I personally skipped a lot of the political ones but followed all of the tech geeks :) They will have updates on features for the new platform.

Also remember this is still in testing and has not been rolled out to masses yet. Already some sites are claiming 10m users, other say it about 5m. Either way that is a lot of flower buyers out there :)

Remember not to set up a business page yet. They are taking them down left and right and they can even suspend your google account. Just keep it personal. You can write about you, your shop, show pictures, and so on. Just keep your profile name YOUR NAME not your shops name. Have seen a few pages go down this weekend and don't want it to happen to you guys :)

Thea, I just added you, it shows up as Rose of Sharon.

Google is apparently putting a huge push on this, they suddenly created a profile for my business, it just showed up out of the blue with an image from my website while I was chatting with someone on the feed. It wanted me to edit the profile, although I have not yet done so.
