Google Sites now open to everyone

Getting started with Google Sites is easy. You can create different types of pages from scratch with the click of a button, and you can embed documents, calendars, photos, videos and gadgets directly into those pages. Similar to Google Docs, built-in editing tools allow for popular text and formatting changes to be made in a straightforward, WYSIWYG manner. Once your site is up and running, inviting people to edit or view your content is as simple as entering in their email address (of course, you can change access levels at any time). And you (or anyone who has editing privileges) can add or edit information whenever you'd like.

Links appear to be no-followed, but the page names will still be highly relevant.

There's a limit of 6 per Google ID. I got the following pages this morning (before someone else could snag & spam with them):

  • Florists Shared with everyone in the world What is a florist and how to find local florists.
  • Flower Delivery Shared with everyone in the world Understanding the various methods of flower delivery.
  • Flowers Pro Shared with everyone in the world About flower professionals and pro florists
  • Local Florists Shared with everyone in the world Information about finding local flower shops
  • Local Flower Shops Shared with everyone in the world Information about finding real local flower shops
  • Real Florists Shared with everyone in the world Real local florists and how to find them.
No content on any of them (and I don't see that happening anytime soon) but they're there if anyone has the inclination to develop one of them, PM me.

We use Google Apps for Strider email, documents, etc, and Google Sites is part of the package. I've played with it a bit, and it seems pretty easy to use. Not sure about the overall value, but getting in first is ALWAYS a great idea :)
