I have a customer that is requesting a casket cover type arrangement for a ceremony to be held on Thursday for his mother. The catch is she has been cremated and he wants to place the urn on top of the floral arrangement that will be sitting on the ground. My question is, do I arrange the flowers as usual in a casket saddle and simply leave a space for the urn? Or is there a better way to do this? Help please!!

What is the "urn" like. Some are box or rectangle shaped while others are "jar" type urns, may make a difference.

We have done this twice in the past couple of months.
We greened flat in the center (covering mechanics) and had the dimensions of the box (actually the F.D. gave us a cardboard box for cremains). The family just placed the box on the spray when they arrived. Worked fine! Left a bow with the FD to take the place of the urn after burial.

We do wreaths ....

on the 18" oasis wreath frames for around urns all the time. They fit perfectly and makes a nice show, and is easy to move with the urn for the service and graveside service.

We recently made this wreath for an urn...it was exquisite! Our customer and the funeral director both loved it!

Girlie...this is gorgeous...did you post it on the blog? And why not...write a small article and post it here or on floristblogs that Rich Dudley runs...it is amazingly simple...just ask Rich and Cathy R how many times I had to call them until I got over my "nerves"...but this is way to pretty to not get it out there ! So just do it!!!!
