Quick question about green orchid colors. Does anyone know the diifference between the green borana debdrobium and the green jade dendrobium?? Also...mini green cymbidiums...the difference between King Arthur and Green Lt Lip??? Trying to order some off of the DV online tool, and my sales rep didn't know the difference either.
Thanks for any help.....

I find that the green burana is a deeper green than the jade. It also has a stronger purple lip in my experience...can't recall if jade has purple lip at all.
The green cymbidiums....I always look for Alice Anderson for deepest green with darkest burgundy throat, but right now the orchids are coming from New Zealand, and the varieties are not as well defined.
I usually ask for the green cymbidium with dark red lip...I think they are stronger green.
I have gotten the King Arthur minis, and not been unhappy...what shade are you looking for??

Thanks for your reply:) I'm making a cascading bridal bouquet. For the green cymbidium the other shade of greens in bouquet are reindeer moss, green coxcomb, green hypericum (berries only-leaves removed)and hanging amaranthus with green chartreuse dendrobiums or I may use the same green borana. I'd like it to be pretty monochromatic.

The green borana dendrob is for the bridesmaids whose dresses are "watermelon", so I'd like the lip to to be more rosy red than purple red. Not looking for the lip color to "pop", either.

Thanks!!

Yup, that's about right.
There are pictures on the DV site that are pretty accurate. You can also look at Zest International ( http://www.zestnz.com/html/products.htm ) for the cymbids and Amy's Orchids ( http://www.amysorchids.com/index.html ) for the dendro, although I didn't see a picture of Burana there, but it is darker with a Burg/red throat.

Which green is closer to the green of the chartreuse...the burana or the green jade??..thanks! if both the same, it seems like you're saying the green jade is more subtle???

I believe they are both chartreuse...I always think the green is sharper or brighter with the more purple throat; if you want monochromatic, though you don't want that!
Never easy, is it????

I always look at Amys Orchids for coloring and descriptions...
