Video Greenville Flower Shop Robbed at Gun Point

How awful for you! I'm glad you weren't hurt and hope they didn't get much money. It certainly steals your peace of mond when something like that happens. Hope they catch the bad guys!

Very painful to watch. I hope your clerk will get counseling if she needs it. As a 20 year policeman here are a few tips that can help prevent this in the future.

Get a friend of a PD to give you an old hat. Then in plain view place the hat behind the register area and sit a cup of coffee (empty cup) to give the appearance he's on break. Make sure it's in plain view and you will be surprised at the looks and comments you will get.

Then on the front door place a sign "videotape on premises". Then you can go out and buy a few dummy camera's, when they read that sign they "criminals" always look up and if they see a camera they don't come back. Over 90% of the robberies people have visited the business (like yours) and they look for what security you have. Be proactive and always be on the lookout. I personally would have at least 3 cameras live in the store for various reasons.

Thank you and it is still very painful for our employee and all of us. We know have a state of the art survienllance system in place, 4 camera's in and 4 camera's out - with a video monitor in the work room so that our girls can see what is going on at all times. My only regret is that we didn't do this sooner. It was not a priority for us as we thought this type of thing would never happen to us. Today our employee was brought back in to the police station to look at photo's and to no avail. I put this out here so that other florists would see that this type of thing can happen to anyone in any type of business. Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions.
