Hi people! I miss Flowerchat a lot. What I can't figure out is how I found so much time before to come here so much. Beats me! Just been really busy - I miss many of you very much.
We had a good May and a quite ok June. This is a good thing as we had been doing so very badly we were wondering if we'd still be in business after Mother's Day. One florist that opened very close up the street closed after Christmas. She only made it six months. She called us and told us we could come and get a whole bunch of stuff for free if we wanted it. Neal went down there and brought back a van full. Then he went back and she gave us a black stand that holds six buckets. You plug it in and it cools the water. We only used it at Valentine's Day so far, but Neal bought some stuff to fit over the holes and we put contact paper over them and make the three tiers to look like shelves now while it is just sitting around. It is very useful for us for dish gardens.

I think her being there hurt us just enough as she was almost across the street from the funeral home. There used to be two funeral homes in our small city and one which was as old as the hills was retiring so the other one bought them out and closed it. They added the name to theirs. About two weeks ago my mom called this place that appeared to be a new funeral home in town at the end of the street I grew up on. She asked my mom to come and talk with her. Nicest family my mom said. She welcomed my mom and gave her tea and cookies. A new florist opened in town about a year ago but at least they are on the other main street running the opposite direction which there has almost always been one on that street in all of our 28 years. The funeral home lady wanted our website address - the other shop does not even have an online presence. The new funeral home is only three short blocks away from the other florist. Can't understand why the other florist didn't jump on the chance to make herself known to this new funeral home.
Neal and I spent all last weekend about 45 miles north of here as it is our annual Biker Sunday for H.I.M. (Hogs In Ministry). It's a weekend event for the members but a very long and full day for all the guests not to mention free to all. So on the July 4th holiday weekend we are closed and doing nothing. I heard my mom out here this morning and she came in to deliver a couple things and in the meantime got a couple more orders to deliver so I guess we were not as closed today as I thought we were.
Ok, you thought you missed me until you see I have not changed and still write long posts that don't say much. Some things never change. LOL
My mom is still going strong. She will be 85 in three months. She had her knee replaced a second time last August and bounced back in no time. She still runs circles around Neal and I. Our MS is trying to kick our butz but we're fighters and we just keep trying to knock it back down. I have a mobility scooter now that I use for events that require a lot of walking. Biker weekend, grocery shopping, etc. Neal gets bummed out a bit as he can't do much without getting fatigued so fast. We had to get rid of our good but expensive insurance and have cheap crappy insurance now so he doesn't go the the neuro anymore.
I had over 3000 unread posts - I guess they will remain unread - no time. I will try to come here at least once a week - I miss the good advice and just the whole thing.
