My son won the director's award at the middle school band concert last night. He was selected by his peer's and the director. The night before he won the chorus director's award as well. He plays drums and played four different percussion instruments for the concert and had two featured parts. Guess that constant tap tap tapping on everything in the house is paying off.;)

thats awesome! I am a drummer too, and have been playing since I was a kid!

Just know that the neighbors will hate you LOL!

They used to call the cops on me when I rocked out after school every day! how lame is that?! old farts!

I eventually turned to angry hardcore punk rock and wrote some really hardcore songs about my neighbors LOL!:musical:

That is fab!!

Master i seen your son on the youtube vid on drums,, looks like music runs in your family...

Our school are sending home violins at the moment and omg, its like there are cats upstairs when he goes on it.

Such accomplishments are always a wonderful reflection of great parents! Good job! ( you look too young to have kids!) :)

You should think of getting him digital drums that he can hook up to an amplifier that allows him to disconnect the speaker(s) and play through headphones. At least when there are other people in the house.

Isn't it a great feeling when you can be so proud of your kids? You must have done something right.

All three of my children took different kinds of musical instruments. No matter how bad they sounded at the beginning...I would never, ever have complained and asked them to stop practicing. I used to teach piano and organ, so, I know that many parents do not tolerate all the bad sounding notes and such which is so unfortunate for those kids.

All this must have paid off because my daughter has a master's degree in voice performance and directs a church choir, plus being the music director at the local school. Each son is a talented musician in their own right and are teaching the grandchildren the love of music.

So, just enjoy those drums....it will pay off for the rest of his life.
