My last day in FTD is 10-31-06, I have been out of Teleflora since last August. I am so looking forward to being wire service free. My FTD rep just left, I like my FTd rep, I do not like his company.

He slapped down a piece of paper in front of me, which gave me FTD membership, QA, Directory, everything for $79.99 for the entire year, Mercury Direct would be $20.00. I said no thank you, but no. I want to be free of the order gathers including FTD. com.

I am so sick of these wire companies. I am so happy to be free.

FTD is about to lose a good shop, and one less shop for us members to send to!!
The transition to WS free, can be easy, IF you are prepared...ARE YOU??
IF it was FTD.COM that was creating most of your hassles, you COULD have been taken OFF the send to list!!
ALSO, I keenly follow the new member/NO LONGER FTD lists every clearinghouse statement, and I see some VERY familiar faces and shops coming BACK to FTD/TF, because they were 1) unprepared and/or 2) missed the volume and available transfer systems!!
Some shops actually joined up back into FTD to have access to it's newest, and cost effective MERCURY POS SYSTEM to rave reviews!!

It was a great offer, just too late, I am prepared. I won't save as much money as I did when I gave up Teleflora, but I'll do okay. And Joe, I my shop is in the Overland area near the airport. Just got back from the Cards Game they were great and I am still frozen.
 
I just wonder how accurate the list of no longer FTD is? What are the chances of the list being held back a little so it won't show how many florist have really left FTD. I know the list is designed to help florist keep up to date information as to who is still FTD.

The reason why I suggest this is because I still have florist trying to send using FTD and also still reiveing calls from bloomlick florist. Funny I havent been a memeber with bloomlick since March and FTD has been over a year.

I haven't found our shop listed yet in the No Longer FTD list either. We've been free for a month or two. We still get a statement from them each month because they actually owe us a credit.

How's this....

FTD membership was terminated OCT 05, Still haven't seen Main stores name published in that list.

If some issues with FTD doesn't change (fast), the branch store's FTD membership will be terminated as well.

Rest assured,,both of you, your stores are not listed in the latest data base..Joe only your Breese Il store is listed but it is listed as an also served for carlyle il
May old books are being used by some florists but the data base doesn't have you guys. Hope things work out well for you..

Personally I love it when they come in and chit chat...I have a blast...

I really like Bob, my FTD rep...good guy... and Jim from 800, another good guy, but in this case he leaves the BS outside the door.... guess they know I know the game better than they do ;)

TF....well, have not seen a TF "rep" in a long time....but I still have lunch with Ed a few times a year even tho I'm not a member...

I wonder if the reps are having a harder time *selling* the **theory** these days....but by the looks of the books, maybe not...

Been there, done that...my old FTD rep has done more than I have ever expected with discounts, etc. on on diff. levels. She REALLY helped me out when we hade a HUGE issue with directory listings.

I too like when they stop on in...had our new FBC Rebekah Lundy (she's going to be a GREAT rep once she learns the ropes...) and Dave Mellon in just last week. We talked about ALL KINDS of stuff... Have only seen my TEL rep once in the past 3 years...but she ALWAYS responds to my e-mails within 24 hours, and with an answer! Bloomlink rep? Who DAT???!!??? Not an issue anymore! Never came in when we WERE BMT...The person we used to have (Del Washington - anyone know her !!! ) was a piece of work... Let's just say, in the end, nuf' was e-nuf'...leave it at that.

I notice you list 36 towns also served.. we dropped almost all of our also served due to the high price of listing them.. did they give you a deaL to keep all these??

I actually think my TF rep is scare of me. I have not seen him in 2 years. He know that I have Flower Chat backing me with my decisions for the business.
He knows I am a straigh shooter.
As for Bloom link. I am glad I did not sign up with Conway last year....
I am not interested of filling for them at any time of the year. I will have to kjeep a eye at holidays when ussually they need something on Dove.
As for FTd, I Like FRank and Angelo. They both helped me but I do not like FTD position with Walmart etc. I know Teleflora is not much better, but because of my POS system I am stuck with them for another 14 months....counting down....14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 and then I am in position to do what I want regarding my POS system.
I have paid for 4 year of dues with no freaking upgrade......
Hell who knows...maybe I will go wireless also........
Wouldnt that put a strain on the other flower shop....crush her down....
and I would work for 100 percents....

Well, I USED to be listed in over 200 towns!!!
That is, until the Brass at FTD wanted more revanue for the stockholders, and started charging for every FTD.COM listing as an ASB listing...there I was listed for every town in our delivery pool. SO...two things happened.
One: My original ASB's were at about 20 or so - yes paying an arm and a leg for them, but on average, I get 8~15 orders a month per town from other florists. After a ton of research into counting orders recieved from FTD, then breaking them down to #'s per town (via Delivery Zone reports), as well as #'s from .COM (had to literally count every order in OE!), I figured out how many towns were getting me at least 8 orders a month. I went back as long as I could (24 mo. of OE data), seeing which towns I listed for that gave me the most orders.

Two: I added to my existing 20 the top towns getting me the most orders from my .COM list. But this time, I weeded out any towns that gave me less than 10 orders a month...therefore keeping only the towns with the most orders.

After all said and done, what you see listed for me is what brought me the most orders over a 24 mo. period...with each town bringing a MINIMUM of 8 orders a month, and many bringing way over 10. I will revisit this in a couple months (one year from the last time I did this) and see if the "8 per mo. per town" rule is still being met by each town.

The key to all this is my delivery pool. Simply put, if I can send the order through the pool, it only costs me $2.00 net. If I take the order, it costs roughly $6-$8 depending on the distance. If the order comes in after pool leaves, and is too far, I forward it (unless a .com)...and, I only accept those .COM orders that I can make $$$ on. All others get rejected, or I ask for a price change (usually for $5~7.00 more to cover the delivery charge...).

That's it! Also, I only have 'expanded listings' for two towns: Phila and North Wales.

Thanks for the explanation.. I list only my main town now.. maybe I should re-look at the data your way..
Issues tho' we do not have a delivery pool and have to deliver everything ourselves..
a Kabloom openned up and is FTd and she has an endless bank acct so she can and does take everything, has all the extra listings
a Central Market aka Priceshopper grocery is also FTd and lists all product codes..easy to do because corp. in NY state can buy and spread to all their 96 plus stores... interesting side note ..they are now buying a little from our wholesaler.. I am sure it is last minute fill in stuff but I am also sure they get a corp. discount for the little they buy
