Stumbled upon an ad on Craigslist: “Flower Consultant Online” with an even more awesome tagline “It's Simple and Easy No Expensive Products to Buy No Parties No Buying Kits No Delivering Products”

I had to research and it is… wait for it… MLS (or pyramid scheme – because lets face it: if it walks like a duck…) and I really wanted to cry. How many dishonest people will enter this industry and will we – the real florist – ever be able to save it?

Products offered by this “amazing company” are supplied by BloomNet (1-800-flowers). The very same products are offered by all other online resellers who have never seen a flower let alone created an arrangement. (FromYouFlowers, Just Flowers, Express Flowers… just to name a few)

That's not the only thing. Ever heard of Amazon Fresh? It's a new service Amazon is testing in limited areas that offers same day/next day early morning delivery of items at a really cheap price. I think it's free delivery if you're a prime member. They're able to do this by using their own trucks instead of UPS/FEDEX.

All the items are through 1-800-flowers. Just wait until this rolls out nationwide.

It is a dropship in a box - I believe ProFlowers should be more concerned about this one than us :)
