Thanks to all for the Birthday greetings.
I try to keep it to myself but someone always figures it out. It was nice to come to the board and be greeted on my bday. My staff brought in a fresh strawberry short cake triple layer cake!! YUM YUM!! Went to dinner with my family. Plan to renew my gym membership - which is my annual bday present to myself. My birthday is a great time to do this since I am reminded that I am not getting any younger!!
She crab soup and shag - that sounds great!! Funny, I just told someone today that I was burnt out on Dockside (a local seafood restaraunt) - They have the best crabcakes!!
Beaufort Water Festival starts on the 14th. All are welcome to come celebrate for 10 days - southern style. Lots and lots of music and entertainment!!
Blessing of the fleet, Lowcounty supper (to include frogmore stew which is a shrimp and crabboil - no frogs included), talent night, regae night, motown, street dance, Comadores ball, parade, raft races, golf tourn., fishing tourn., bed races- yes bed races, local crafts, kids day, I could go on and on. FUN FUN FUN.

Hope you birthday was an especially happy one. It must have been with all of the county celebrating with you!
My dad's family reunion is always held in coastal SC (Olanta, near Andrews, near Georgetown) and it includes Frogmoor Stew, Purleau (I've never known how to spell that correctly), and lots or other Lowcountry specialties. Your post makes me even more eager to attend! We live in the Northwestern corner of SC, and we just don't get those delicacies here. My dad did make a purleau a couple of times a year, his own version, but we loved it. This will be our first reunion without him, but the family is dedicating this reunion to him. Sorry for getting off thread.

Isn't Josh Turner from SC also? He's the one with the really deep voice who sang, "Long Black Train?"
Born and raised in Hannah, South Carolina. Yes, Long Black Train. Just checked out his website to see were he is from. He's so cute!!! - Kinda looks like my hubby with dark hair. :kuddle: LOL.....
