(a completely belated) Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes.
Rhonda was right: I WAS on my honeymoon and unwilling to even look at a computer for eight days

Saw some awful floral arrangements on the ship though that made me think
"God my flowerchat buddies would have a hayday if they saw what passed for design around here"

where's my camera when I need it!!

Thanks again all

First of all - Happy Birthday - Late, but thoughtful,

Secondly...........I have heard that cruise ship florists have a rough job. My understanding is that there are so many restrictions they have to follow.......that it makes a typical florist's Valentines day rush look like a leisurely walk in the park.

oh gosh! I wonder...I guess I never thought of it.
There were no large arrangements. I guess I just saw a staffer walking to a room with a dozen roses in a vase
It was what I call a "plunk job"

Plunk Job= Fill vase with water, hold flowers, cut bottoms, plunk in vase.

That was my only view of the floral "design" though

Their website says $51 and it definately did NOT look like the attached picture they show.
On our ship there were mostly ice sculptures. very beautiful

Admittedly, my cruise ship knowledge is limited, but the one thing I do know is they have to use special pots, pans, and cooktops as there is NO flame/fire allowed on the ship under any circumstances........even in the kitchens
