MA'SUM GHAR, Afghanistan - For many Canadian soldiers on remote bases in southern Afghanistan, Canada Day is just another working day.
But even though there are missions to find insurgents and roadside bombs, soldiers are still finding ways to mark the country's special day. One tank crew, for example, has decked their tanks out with the Maple Leaf. Trooper James Lajoie says he knows exactly how he's going to celebrate - by staying alive. He says every day is a good day to be a Canadian.
That hasn't stopped him from wearing a Maple Leaf tie over his combat fatigues to mark Canada Day.
