Hey Now,
I'm surprised there are no threads on Shopify as an e-commerce platform for online flower sales. It's a hot company here in Ottawa, and has a cool turnkey approach to online sales.
If anyone has reviewed for a florist implementation- please post back with your thoughts and comments.
Cheers,

Most of us use floral specific platforms, as there are a lot of parts to a floral order that do not always apply to other shopping experiences, like the card message, special instructions etc... check out:

Shopify is a very versatile platform and I have actually looked into it.

However it is a one size fits all and is not floral specific, something that becomes a challenge in this industry. There was no allowance for Things like a card message or specifying a delivery date (assumption is to ship as soon as possible). Also no interface development for communicating with wire service networks (might be an app (see below) for someone to develop.

As well the last time I looked at it I was not comfortable with their credit card clearing process. As I recall they do the processing rather that the retailer, now some of the above may have changed since I looked into the platform.

What I did find impressive was their long list of apps, however your monthly costs could increase quickly depending on what apps you chose.
