About 6 weeks ago we were unable to find the source of a rotten smell coming up from the basement , it eventually receded , while running some electrical wires through the basement son-in-law came upon the source of that stench, a dead cat , inside a bankerbox holding most of my records from 2004 . We have held a pyre for the cat and the records , just hope that if ever I get audited the pictures from daughter cell phone will get me off the hook.:puke:

oh my the stench must have been pretty bad. We had a mouse die in the back room and we could hardly stand it!

Never had a dead cat in the basement, but my retriever decided he would bring home a Halloween present and placed it ever so nicely on my doorstep and the stench was horrible.I cant imagine it in the basement. Fabreeze maybe!

Had a mouse die somewhere in the basement of the shop just before my first holiday open house. PHEW! It was disgusting! Good thing I had some great new candles! It finally decomposed and stopped smelling by spring.:faint:

We have a cat that lives here , she brings back presents all the time , mice with the head and tails removed left just inside the front door, just the kind of thing to start your day.:catclock:

I hope you pat her on the head and tell her she's a good kitty. They really are presents in their little world. We may not appreciate them so much but they think they are so good...

we shake the whiskas temptations and give her some treats, the whole reason we have her here is to find those presents, she also greats the customers , is very friendly , people actually stop by to see her , she also gets some visits occasionally from her offspring. Only wish her fur wouldn't clog up the evaporator belonging to the cooler. :cat:

I once had a mouse die inside the heater core of our delivery van. Yes, it was winter and I needed the van to go to market. The stench was almost unbearable. At the time I didn't know where the odor was originating.
