My name is Ron Beyer from Traverse City Michigan. I provide business, computer and misc. services to small businesses in my local area.
For the last 15 years I've done a lot of work for a local Traverse City florist, The Plant Haus. My initial contacts soley involved support for their computers. Over the years the scope of services I provide them has greatly expanded. They now include not only my doing a fair amount of the bookkeeping as well as the maintenance of the computer network but now include research for the owner into many other aspects of the business as well. I usually sit in on his meetings with wire-service representatives as well as other current and potential vendors. I've also evaluated several of the floral industry software packages that are available for the shop.
Consequently I now know far more about the floral industry than I ever imagined I would the first time I went there to fix a problem on their computer. I find the unique problems faced by florists very interesting. I look forward to being able to interact with the members of this board in order to further solutions to the challenges faced by retail florists.
