I have been involved in the floral industry with Teleflora for over 10 years. I have enjoyed, for the most part, each individual I have met through my travels for the company. Initially I was hired to technically assist shop owners and staff in house, via telephone. Soon I was asked to take to the road and work face to face with shops as I installed point of sale systems into their stores. I have laughed and cried with the best of you. About five years into my career I was asked to assist with sales and so I traveled again from store to store, state to state, to demonstrate the power of technology. During this time I mostly cried and you laughed.

Today I still work hard for Teleflora. I am interested in speaking with folks here and doing my best to help in a different way. I will be forthright and you will not read a post from me unless I know what I am writing about. I am not into bashing competitors, and I am hoping that I find this site to be less angry as some I have seen before. I remember when I was green and knew very little about technology, software and electronic communication. I use the layman memories as tools to keep me grounded and it helps me when training others. Who knows, maybe I can help someone out there by being a member of this board. If so, then joining up with you will have been worthwhile.

Thanks for your consideration to allow me to become part of this group.

No wait, I am not enlightened. I hope to enlighten others with the few things I may be able to do from time to time. So unless anyone minds I will keep it like it is. Thanks

Hi Sean -

Welcome to FC. We definitely have something in common - I've laughed and cried with Teleflora, too. ;)

Technology is always an interesting topic here. You'll find current Teleflora software users and former users (like me). We do ask that marketing to potential new users be kept in the Business Services forum. :)

Thanks for the advice. I am no longer in sales but will try to stick to the rules anyway. I was inspired to join when I saw a post from an owner (at an angry chatroom) for a chart of accounts for quickbooks and all the replies were sending her to sites that cost money. I felt like I could possibly give a hand here and there, so I joined this room to do so. Thank you for your warm welcome.

Sean,

I also spent some time on the TF Tech payroll - and enjoyed my time there.

Welcome to FlowerChat :)

I believe there are a few of us here who would love to know how to set up a chart of accounts for wire services in our QB programs.

I lost my reply...I'll start again. QB's is really easy to set up and I have created an industry standard chart of account. It is currently an iif file which is importable to QB's. It is super easy to do and if you don't like it just don't use it or delete the company after setting it up. I can provide instructions with the import to simplify even more. I need to read all the rules before I do anything dumb on my first day but I have it all at my fingertips and I know of at least 100 shops, some doing well over a million a year who have had no troubles with using it.

Wait, there are other florist chat boards? ;)

Welcome to flowerchat - with such a willingness to help, you should fit in here very well.

Very interesting! I for one could use some advice in QB. Not the highest IQ when it comes to this stuff, dream of being a little more in the know.
Would like that very much.
