Hello Everyone,

My name is Caren and hope to join your forums. I am the owner and principal designer of Graceful Designs in central Massachusetts. I am a private studio that works by appointment. My grandparents owned a flower shop for many years and I am hoping to get back in to the “family” business.

I have been taking professional florist classes for about 2 years in the Boston and surrounding area. I am at the point where I’ve taken everything I can find but just can’t seem to get enough J I do about 2 events a month and strive for quality and excellence over quantity. I hope to continue to grow my business every month!

I would love to join the group and hope that I’d have some good information to share as well as learn a lot from you.

Let me ask you, what kind of studio space do you have??

I have detached garage/barn that we have converted into a studio for my business. I have a 4 door cooler and my huband has built a great workbench and storage along the walls. I have a work sink for flowers which I try and keep sanitized and one for "everything else." I also have a meeting area for brides and clients.

I hope that once I can get the capital that I'd be able to acquire a retail shop in the not so distant future! Dream big!

Hi Connie, Yes, I do my own photography. I have a very creative family and luckily for me a lot has rubbed off on me! I do try and get the professional photos from the wedding and event photographers if I am particularly pleased with how the event turned out. I usually just have those in my regular portfolio rather than online. I find that they are very willing to share as long as they can watermark the photo. Which works fine for me.
