Hello Everyone, my name is Chris I'm a 28 yr old guy and I'm a floral designer from the UK. Well (although I have my ideas at the moment), I am currently on my final year of a degree course (BA (Hons) Floristry & Design). My family have been in the business for over 20 years, and initially it wasn't what I wanted to do, but after taking a BSc degree in Psychology I realised that Floristry was my true calling, so am back at college (with strict instructions from my family that if I want to run the business I have to know about it!), and am completing my final year at uni now.

I love being able to chat about new ideas and give my input into any probs people may be having, which is why I have logged onto this forum.

I hope to be chatting with many of you soon!

Its good to be here, only found out about the forum yesterday. I wonder if anyone can help me about where best to post a discussional topic that gets seen by the most people? I'm currently writing a dissertation on carbon footprint & the floristry industry and would really love to get some worlwide perspective on the issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to FC. I am also in a family run business. My brother and I own a shop in Oregon. You'll hear alot from him (Bloomz) on this board. Who better can you trust in business but your family?...but there are also challenges...Right? Sometimes our employees tell us "OK you guys, I left my kids at home". That doesn't happen too often tho.
