Help from our canadian Florist detectives

I turned down orders from Town and country florist in Niagara Falls this week. They have been sending orders to the other florist in town and since they could not get their orders done by them, they tried me.
So I said no.

The next day I get a call for an order. We go through the usual information, what she wanted etc. Then I said, how you will be paying for this. Credit card she says, Name on the card, she give Denis Sunstrum name, which I know he is the owner of Niagara Falls. Toll her I am not taking the order. SHe laughs at me and then said, I never heard of a florist turned down orders before. If I could have reach her through the phone I would have given her apiece of my mind.

Almost at the end of thean day, like 5:15 or so, I get a call for the FLoral Nook in TOronto. He said I have 7 orders for Elliot lake, can you fill them. I said it all depends what it is, send them through dove and I will see.

This morning, I go through the orders and fell on the one that the Town & Country wanted us to fill for him. I got a weird feeling that they channel their orders through floral nook so I can fill them.

I did do them, I will contact Floral Nook and let them know of their skeemed. Do anyone knows if they these owners are buddies and if anyone has seen an increase of orders from Floral Nook in Toronto when they say no to Town & Country.

Maybe I just discovered their skeemed.

The Floral Nookie boys called last week with an order for the TF butterfly vase 55.00; was 88.00 + charges on their site. Told them we're not TF so didn't have the vase and they didn't have the money - didn't matter - fill to value. I hate those words.

refused a few from Town & Country myself... thanks for the tip on Flower Nook, tho wish i'd seen this a few days ago.

Question, do you actually say "I don't fill orders for Order Gatherers"? Cause I did... but felt a little strange about it... like it's a secret LOL

And maybe this isn't the place to ask, but there seems to be a fine line between what makes an OG an OG... we all (those using ws) offer wire out service, but at what point have you "crossed over to the dark side"? I ask because I know of (Montreal based) OG's using FC and wonder how they call themselves "Real Local Florists" on here??

check out floristdetective.com and "not your local florist" for a list of known dirty (dishonest) order gatherers. When the "operator" is confused as to the order gatherer moniker...I direct them to floristdetective.com LOL

oh i'm well aware of that site/list but these florists are not on there.... are you saying I should "report" them?
 
Had numerous calls from OG's especially FTD; 3 in 5 minutes (no exaggeration) Friday AM. Couple days before they wanted this

and since we weren't a member were offering a credit card and 27.00 including delivery instead of 39.99; just laughed at him and told him not to call back. You can make money initially on that item BUT they specified 4 open star blooms in a square vase - so in a couple days when the already open blooms start to go I'd expect a call from the recipient or FTD wanting a replacement.
Had other calls from Weasley, TF, Just Flowers, one of Cesarios - I hope none of them got filled.
We refuse ANY ORDER from ANYONE IF we can't fill the item promised for the money offered. AND ANYTHING , of course from the DOG's !

Is Town and Country still a sending only shop? I used to hate getting orders from them.

I was told this last fall, not sure by who, but I can't find anything on it now and cannot recall the circumstances....hmmm. I'll edit and withdraw that now and if I find more info will post it.

Nature's Wonders is a b&m (storefront?) shop in Vancouver. Used to send to them until we got a call centre person on the phone and couldn't talk directly to anyone at the shop numerous times - couple of years ago now. Also got a complaint from one of our very good, long-time customers, who knows Van. very well. She requested that we use different shop - she obviously noticed the 'change' too. Another reason to drop them from our list.

Curious - what particularly is wrong with Town and Country - is it just that he is doing a better job than most or is he deceptive somehow?

Nature's Wonder is a B & M shop in Vancouver, true.
 
Jon, I just asked if they were a sending only shop? That's what I remember about them.

Jon,

Don't come and play with me when I don't hear from you for over a year. Nomore head games. They are a order gatherer in my eyes and I am not happy. The orders they sell for florist is LOWER than what they want in their own town. Is this fair? If they want more for a certain arr they should offer the same to the filling florist. So they advertise a lower price, makes thier money on rebates and service fee. Their staff are like weasels just like him and I never like weasselsSSSSSSSS!
