I've agreed to paint a child's rocker for a silent auction at our September Fest in town. Of course, there will be flowers on it, but I'd also like to include a quote on the back part of the rocker. Help me select the best quote. Thanks. Comments and other suggested quotes are welcome. Have fun!

I like the dance quote as the chair is for a child.

I would alter it a bit. Wear wildflowers in your hair and dance in the sun.

I just happened to think about copywrights - if I know the author of the quote, is it enough to add their name? Otherwise, I'd have no idea how to go about getting permission, as I found these all out on the internet. Maybe the safest thing to do is alter one like V suggested, then I don't have to worry about it. If anyone knows the law on this, please chime in. Thanks!

I don't think you need to worry. People quote people all the time. But to be safe, alter it.

Well, Sarah, I'm a novice, and got talked into it by this community group I'm a part of. They are supplying the wooden rockers and the paints, but it's up to me what I paint. So, I have to paint flowers, what else do I know? Expect it to be more realistic than whimsical, but definitely gardeny in style. Anyone who wants to share ideas for painting flowers, I'm all ears. If I use the sun/wildflower quote, I may try a scene across the seat with the sun and flowers, and maybe even little girls, but no faces. I don't trust myself to do that justice. At any rate, looking forward to getting started next week with the primer and sanding. Then once I settle on a quote to sketch out the painting. Should be fun. I am a procrastinator, so I may be finishing it the night before the auction Sept 18th. I'll take pics. There are 8 or 10 being painted, and some by professional painters, so I hope mine doesn't look pathetic next to theirs.

I just came up with one, in an odd place. Guerrilla Marketing.

This is not an exact quote, I changed it.

Children and flowers........miracles in bloom
See, you just never know where the next idea will come from. Thanks, I really like that one, short and sweet.

Thought I would post a pic of my rocker. As it turned out, the back slats were quite small, so I had to choose a brief one: Thanks to Linda for her quote.
Since I'm not a painter, I decided to go with simple primary colors (mondrian-like), think that will be good for kids.
