HELP!! Mini Gerb Bout. prevent wilting?

Hello everyone,

I have a client who has requested bout. to be made w/ single mini gerbera's. I have not done this before. Wedding is this weekend and I am a little concerned about the gerbs wilting before cermony is over.

Has anyone ever used mini gerbs for boutinnaires before? If so do they hold up well and what is your advice to prevent wilting?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just cut stems short to process and hydrate well then spray with crowing glory or hawaiian mist and they won't wilt. They do, however, get mushed very easily. I have used them for three weddings and twice I had to replace the grooms bout before the ceremony due to "overzealous hugs" My suggestion is to send a replacement bout for the groom so he can change out the mushed one right before he walks.

We used them this past weekend, at a wedding we attended. We did a double thin wire, hairpinned through the center, and cut the stem short enough so we could wrap with a little wet tissue before stem taping. Also sprayed front and back with Finishing Touch. They held up well - did bouts and double flower wristlets for moms.

I have used germinis for lots of weddings, proms & mother's day with no problem. Just wired thru the center and taped like usual. Spray fronts & backs with crowning glory (don't forget this step!!!!!!!!). They are so easy, you'll be suggesting them for all your weddings!

One mother was wearing hers at work the Monday after Mother's Day and it still looked beautiful!

I highly recommend Ever-bloom gerbs. Maybe that's why they lasted so long!

Jay Schwanke also recommends sealing the stem end of the gerb with adhesive to prevent water transpiration.

Pretty sure it's the same concept - Finishing Touch is by Floralife, but I think they are both anti-transpirant type use.
