Well it has been about 2 weeks since the fire. I was in shock, disbelief and now am going thru my mourning & "what do I do" period. In others words I am in the worst FUNK I can remeber. I welcome the knights when I know I don't have to think & can just go to sleep. Thinking makes me realized what else was in the store, what I had just purchase, what I had stock. WOrking with insurance, but don't see much coming. The reason I am writing to you my friends is to get some input if possiable. I don't know (haha, my husband wold love this) to do. Do I just work out of my house with the weddings I have booked, and try to get more work? Get a freelance job in the city on weekends & just make sure it doesn't conflict with my events? Get a steady job during the week in the city? What would your course of Action would you take. I walk from room to room trying to figure things out.

? What would your course of Action would you take. I walk from room to room trying to figure things out.

I do not know your faith... but I personally would pray - I would need a clear answer as to why - before I could move forward.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you from here! Chin up... :dearbob:

Teh days & nights in total confusion are the hardest!

Get a tablet out, with lots of pages and pencils.
make 2 columns -- the Pros and the Cons

1. Can you make it work out of our house, with the weddings and events you have booked?

2. why you cannot make it work out of your house -- because there isn't enough event business booked.

3.what will you lose in everyday clientele? Is it important -- financially?

4.Can you make it as an event only designer/studio?

5. if you rebuild, what is the time table to get it done? What is the cost? will it all be covered by insurance?

6. Do you have business interuption insurance on your policy, so that you have some revenue while you are down?

This is only the beginning of "the lists".

Make the list of questions first -- 1 per page -- with lots of room for notes.

Then seek the answers to your questions. Gradually, as you gain the answers, the ultimate solution will "appear" to you -- like a vision almost.

While it is hard not to do, do not allow your sentimental feelings cloud your judgment. let the answers to your questions guide your decision process.

Good luck.....if there is anything we can help you with, just holler or send a messge.

Cheryl
