In receipt overnight of an e-mail from TF entitled "Help us serve you."

Open it up and TF want you to click on the button with-in the e-mail that reads "Run it Now!".

According to the text of the e-mail, by clicking the button, TF will assess your computer(s) and determine how best they can adapt their technologies, such as Myteleflora.com to help you run more business more efficiently and profitably.

I am not clicking that button...would you?

What do the technofiles on here think about this from TF?

One reason for starting the thread was an element of doubt in my mind as to whether it was from TF and, by asking, see if anyone else had the same e-mail.

The e-mail address of the sender is [email protected]

Assuming it is legit and that it is a joke, why would they send it? I am certainly not clicking on the button to find out!

why not call your rep and ask them?

Might as well wait for hell to freeze over as wait for TF rep to respond to something.

What I have done though, as a result of your suggestion, forwarded the e-mail to TF Web Services to ask them and will report back what they say. If it is not from TF, then they should know about it and, if it is malacious, well, so be it.

TF Web Services have just confirmed that it is legit, TF sent it.

So, seeing as the source is legit and Ryan says it is useless assuming legit, then why send it?

I had assumed that they are looking to see what you have inside your computer and want to sell you something but, if useless, what is the purpose? Or are they mining for something?

It's a marketing tool used all the time by various business. CC company called the other day offering to "dial in" and see if they could improve on "hardware" for accepting cards. (yes they we're legit). There hope is to get into someones system "tell them they need this and that" and like ALL OF US AT one time or another, would have said, "where do I sign"................Just another way to pay for some salaries....................I bet you a few hundred florists did it today. I went so far as the point that said "we will now download and enter your system"............I was on the driver's computer..........:wallhead:
