hit accent decor................in the accesories section.

there are lot of different trees my friend.

you may be speaking of manzanita trees. I think thats what they are called. wholesaler always knows what i mean.

OR you maybe speaking of candelabra trees. I've seen both on that show.

Manzanita trees look like trees with no leaves. Most of the time they spray paint them black or gold or silver, etc. You can hang all sorts of stuff off of them. Yes, they will have to be designed in some sort of pot. And no regular old branches off your tree outside do not look the same, if you ask me.

Now, you can also get metal candelabra trees, they are usually pretty pricey, so be ready. But you could just use them as rentals as we do.

There are lots of companies, country originals is pretty good, also if i remember, ihi too.

As for the crystals, Pavock trading in Denver has them very cheap and they look nice.
Or you may be able to find them at an Indian (India) store. I've always had good luck there.

hope this helps

Give some more details Ellen. What kind of trees? Live potted? Permanent botanical? Bare? Do you have a photo or can you give a link to a picture? BTW, good luck, and let me know (after this huge prom weekend) if I can help in any way.

For the crystals- www.crystalier.com or www.jamaligarden.com

If you are talking about trees, similar to these: http://www.flowerchat.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/1048/cat/500/ppuser/1582

I actually used sticks from my own backyard. Many of the ones in magazines use manzantia branches. This photo is floating all over the web and you would not believe how many calls I get asking about these centerpieces! More than one person has wanted me to ship them across the country. I rent them out and have made quite a profit on them. (They are such a pain to transport and set up though.)

Mocha, It's kind of you to share your sources, and your tips on your work. You have a beautiful shot of your wedding work, and kudos to you. It's great that it is bringing you attention, and you deserve it. Hat's off to you for being generous and talented. ~melissa

Price them higher than you think if they are this big. We had to rent a truck just to transport 9 of them.

I did the standard markup on the crystals and rented the vases/ stones. Even thought they were free, I charged for the price of birch branches + labor. I timed myself putting the entire design together for a sample and used that as my labor time.

I retained the centerpieces for rental items. I use them a lot for place card tables. I up-sell by adding flowers.

I went on line to cristalier, thank you. I'm really checking all advice, seeing some great things to bring to the table for this bride. You guys are great!!!!! Thanks again Ellen

I saw these last night at Southern Floral Company (713) 880-1313. $350 with crystals ~ forgot price undecorated.

I remember seeing this centerpiece a while back. It is awesome Mocha! Very elegant....

I also like the Mitsumata branches for those kinds of centerpieces. They come in many colors, but my favorite is dark brown (almost black). It really depends on the style of the wedding. As for crystals, I have gotten them from Hofland, from their Christmas collection.

Good luck with that... It's definitly a fun project!

Thank's it works NOW !! They do have what I'm looking for ! We'll see if this bride is willing to put the money on the over all look she is after. Everyone, you all have been a great help, I knew I could count ya'll , Ellen

I have a bride that wants them as well, only the ones she is wanting are potted trees that are draped in crystals and orchids.

Yea, Brides have their dreams, but most are not money bags. So then comes the work to make their dreams come true on the level they can can afford. I think thats when I do my best work, trash to treasures! When brides can afford their day, it's a dream come true for me!!:bouncy:
