Help With Making A Horseshoe

HELPPPPP!! I have to make a horseshoe for a funeral and have NO CLUE at all of how to make the form for it. PLEASE HELP! :help:

I've never made one, sorry. But......how about taking a 24" oasis ring and cutting a quarter of it out? Then just design it with heavier flowers at the top to give it a more elongated shape?

we used to take an oblong wire frame, and cut the end off, now, it's the "same" as Linda suggests

Oasis makes one, my suppliers stock it, maybe yours do too... or use the Oasis Board, the styro with Oasis attached... it would make it easier to get the right shape.

OK.... Please don't laugh...I made this my first year in business when I was getting use to making big. It was HEAVY... made the shape with the Oasis sheet, used the customer's horseshoes for a template. Plus the horseshoes were heavy. I look at this now and see so many things I would do differently. Oh my how my techniques and perspectives change when I do this all the time. Good luck!

Why do they want a horseshoe? Some want them to look like the real thing meaning no sprays of flowers, just the shape of a horseshoe with flowers and a different colour to depict the nails. some would want it to be hung with the the open side up so that thier luck will not run out........little late I think, but some people are very superstitious.
On a side note I think we still have a couple of wire frames in the basement.

Thanks guys - I found a Oasis form at the wholesaler. The decease like to ride horses. She was only 23 - very sad
