Help With Telefora Recipe

Can somebody help me with the recipe for the Teleflora Victorian Garden. Not so much what is in it but the size of the basket they used. Have a customer who would like one delivered tomorrow. Pictures are so deceiving, the basket looks big in the picture!!

I find that using the amount of foam used in the recipe is a good indication of basket size. At 2/3 brick, an 8" should work.

TF's recipe says it's a 14" basket...

14", guess the basket is good size. I am guessing this is one sided. Thank you so much for your help, I really do appreciate it very much. Off to the wholesalers tomorrow!

I have done those in a 10" basket and it is plenty big.
THe with they figure is also the lenght of the flowers that are usually extented on the outside of the basket.

Even a 8" basket is big enough.

I agree with Luc. 8inch is plenty big. Look at the bottom of the basket in the photo compared to the furthest points on each side. Flowers/Ivy extend to make your 14 inches.

we use an 8" basket for this design.

If you go too big on the basket you run the risk of the arrangement looking too spaced out from the photo or you use way more flowers than you are being paid for. JMO

Not a 14" basket, it's 14" overall size.

Just like a 24" cross / heart/ wreath base isn't a 24" completed design.

8" basket will work just fine.

Could the recipe mean a 14" HIGH basket? What I posted above was cut & pasted right from the recipe guide. It does say overall size is 14" x 14", but you guys are right, it really doesn't look like a 14" wide basket.

Regardless of the recipe , you have to do it based on cost. Just because TF says the size or number of flowers to use, doesn't mean they gave you enough money. I always do the math first and then decide what size the arrangement can be.

Completely impossible with the recipe provided. Every flower on the list is visible in the photo (and then some). Arraying them for all around would substantially change the appearance of the arrangement.

This is why TF members need to email them:
- Basket size listed is incorrect (too large)
- Overall dimensions are incorrect (too large)
- Insuffiecient foliages to conceal 2/3 block foam (1/2 stem Seeded Eucalyptus, 2 stems Green Ivy, 1/2 stem Pitta Negra)
- Insufficient flowers to create design as shown & described to consumer, especially as an all-around.

Consumers will either be disappointed by the appearance or florists will need to privive 1/3 to 1/2 more materials than called for in the recipe.
