dilemma

Hello there! Never been on "chat" before but started to post a new thread and came here instead. I am facing a moral?? ethical??? decision. I am in a SMALL town. 3 florists. I have been purchasing domain names and directing them to my website ( which I am STILL trying to do myself). I was putting in names available for domains yesterday AND... my biggest competitor does NOT have the name of his shop with the word THE in front. I bought it. NOW.. I am wondering if it would be right to direct the name to my sight. He has a site through teleflora ( which looks a LOT better than mine at this moment) but I think he must have only bought one domain name. Would you all feel bad to direct orders to your site using his shops name but adding the in front???? Just dont know whether to or not! thanks for any advice. Missy

We were in a small town, but not it is a very large town after 20 years. You will have to be very careful about your decision, sometimes it will backfire on you, especiall in a small town.

I guess my only reason for considering it is this.... it's not an individual name, it's the name of our town. For instance.. say we were talking about Louisville. Their name is Louisilleflowershop.com. mine would be thelouisvilleflowershop.com. Does that really make a difference? I think for now, I'll just hold on to it. I'll know when it feels "right". The owner is expected to retire soon, maybe then I will take advantage of the opportunity. Have'nt decided yet what to do. It doesn't feel right to me BUT... if the opportunity came I know my competition would do it to me. Just thinking about what to do.
