I just got back this morning from 2 weeks of weddings in DC. There are thousands of new posts to catch up on.
Yesterday was the most intensive floral wedding I think I've ever done. There were three various table arrangements all in hot pinks. Peonies, amazing large pink hydrangea, roses, sweet peas. It was nice to do a large budget wedding again. Love them NY brides.
I was tearing it all down at 1:30 am by myself at the Willard DC. I trained three large metro carts full of stuff down to the loading docks and finished unloading the first when I noticed I had neglected to set the break. It started to roll of the dock and I lunged to stop it only to have the dam thing fall off and smash my big toe. Broke it big time. I screamed like hell froze over. The 7 hour drive home this morning was hell as I had to drive with my left foot as I propped my right up on the dash to keep the throbbing to a minimum. You know what pisses me? The Willard has changed their vendor dress code. All vendors are requires to wear dress slacks and shoes, plus shirt and tie. I usually wear steel toe boots, had I done so I would not have damaged myself. I will be sure to call the Willard tomorrow.
I also wanted to share that one of my freelancers worked for David Tutera in Baltimore on Thursday to help on a 2 million dollar wedding. Nice to hear that.
