Anchorage Floral, in operation since 1978, I have owned it now 10 years come January. I worked in the corporate world for many years, when a layoff came around, I decided to "retire" - 1 year later, with a community college floral design class under my belt, I bought a shop in my neighborhood. First day I had 1 employee - a driver - who called in and quit! Had to beg the previous owner's husband to do my deliveries for me. First Valentine's Day I survived on V-8 juice (the only thing I could keep down) and 3 hours of sleep a night for about a month. Things got better from there.
We pride ourselves on our customer service and longevity of our flowers. Much of our market are folks that we have been serving for many years - repeat customers allow us to educate them on floral care, which leads to a longer vase life (and a happier customer). We love our flowers and our customers (almost all of them!) and we look forward to being the neighborhood flower shop for another 30 years. Our motto is "Anchorage Floral -- for flowers that touch the heart. . .
