About me: Since I was a child, I loved going to the florist, the greenhouse, and the nursery. I've always been an avid gardener. I went off a ladder several years ago, quit working construction, and started working at a florist. I love it. Should have done this years ago without falling off a ladder first.

How long have you been in business? Have you gone to school to learn the floral trade? Do you have a website?

Hi Victoria--

I've been doing this since '04. I don't own the shop I work in. I worked in New Hampshire for a couple of years close enough to Manchester that I took every seminar and workshop offered by Teleflora and the New Hampshire State Florists' Association while living there. The shop I'm in now has recently dropped its Teleflora membership. The shop's website was through Teleflora, so for the time being, we are without one.

Manchester... I love NH and have a dear friend in Dover. He owns Garrison Hills. I also love the Carolinas. :)

Thanks for the compliment about the photo. I'm the one in beige with my friend of many many years. I don't say she's my oldest friend because she'd hit me as she's not the oldest. We have however, been friends since we were 10.

How did you find Flower Chat, friend or ******** ? Took me 2 years of my friend telling me before I checked it out and man was I hooked like a fish!!!!
I love this site and the folks here tell it like it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You LOL, Cry, and lift each other up when needed. Like family you don't have to feed. HAHA

Hi elmo! We're in Sparta, which is up in the northwest corner, about an hour from Boone, 25 minutes from Independence, VA. It's very beautiful and very rural. Alleghany County has a population of only 10,000 and 3 flower shops! They love their flowers here, thank goodness. What part of South Carolina are you in? I only know Charleston and the Gaffney peach, which is a sight to behold. I found this site just by searching "florists" in an attempt to educate myself.
