I am not sure why we react toward certain situation in our lives differently than others. Why was I so intense on doing something for Tanya when one of my staff has the same thing as Tanya. Nora only worked for me three weeks at Christmas last year and a few days at Valentine. She is in her sixties and was refered to me so she can make a few extra dollar and keep her occupy. In March of this year she had a stroke. After the MRI, they discovered the tumor and yes it is cancerous. THe report I got today is her brain is totally cancerous. She is also under going treatment to slow down the cancer. She is still partialy paralized and is hoping to go back to her own home and be with her dog. Indication is telling us she wants to go home and die. Part of her family lives in Bermuda and are having a wedding this weekend. THey did come up about 1 1/2 months ago to visit with her for almost three weeks, but had to return to finish the wedding plans for this weekend. It is my understanding that they are going to come back up real soon and can stay at her home in Elliot Lake. I met her mother who is 92 and you would give her age in her 60's.
Is it the age thing? Why was I more prone to do something for tanya than for her? Did I think Tanya deserve more help? After discussing this with my wife the other night we decided to help her as much as we can. After talking with a co-worker who has visited her yesterday, for now nothing is required. I am sending her flowers again today, to at least brighten her room up.
This co-worker who works for me part-time and part-time at the same travel agency as Tanya is devastated. SHe is like a sister to both of them.
TO ad to All of this, My mother who is 73, needs a operation for a Anyresym. It is about 5.5 cm in size at the moment. (about 2" in size) It is close to the kidneys. She just under went test to see if her lungs, heart etc are in good shape for her to undergo the operation which they say will take about 3 to 4 hours long if everything goes right.
I am hoping this black cloud moves on for a while....
