the mass re-location plans, of "outsiders", ISN'T making the Haitian people sing at all, however, history shows that it takes DISASTER, for most peple to "realize", how lucky many of us are, and how very insignificant OUR problems truly are!
My ONLY one fear IS, that much of the "aid" may be squandered, while people continue to die, from the lack of basic necessities, and the "so-called" leader, of the Haitian people, is remarkably without words, while his WIFE, is doing MOST of the front line work!

I heard a local doctor on the radio this morning. He and a group of medical professionals have been in Haiti since Monday and he described the very difficult circumstances under which they've worked. They're in an orphanage converted to a 'hospital'. ICU amounts to a few trailers with AC (it's 90 degress F daytime) but most of the patients have needs beyond their basic tools. Orthopedic surgeons are operating without x-rays.

The least any of us can do is to contribute a few dollars... or more.

The real heroes are the people on the ground who left comfortable lives to simply do good for their fellow humans.
