Last week, there was a tragedy that has touched my community. Three boys who were friends of my son and all went to the same high school, were killed in a horrible car accident. My heart is aching for these parents. My son is devastated as is everyone in the area. Two of the boys were 17 and Juniors and one of the boys had just turned 18 and was getting ready to graduate. We went to three funerals and I am just feeling horrible. Being in this business and having to deliver to funeral homes, I am sure you can relate to seeing things you just don't want to see. When I delivered flowers to one of the boys, the funeral director took me into the room before the viewing. It was absolutely horrible. I can not get the horrible image out of my head. All I could think of was my son was going to see his friend is such condition. This boy had taken everything to his face and I have never seen something that bad. When we went back for the viewing, thankfully, the funeral director had talked the family into closing the casket. I am just so thankful they did that, I can not imagine how tramatized the kids would have been so see him that way and that would have been the last image of him they would have had in their heads.
I made their high school logo (LCN) out of flowers and my son and I took it over to the crash site. I think it helped my son to do something to honor them and I know it helped me.

One of the kids from the school posted a beautiful tribute video on youtube for them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxgvWLnWyME
These kids are just reeling. The driver of the car who was only 17 had been friends with these boys since they were in elementary school. He survived, but had multiple broken bones and it is rumored that he tried to committ suicide. Please keep my community, the parents, all these kids, and my son in your prayers.

Such a tragedy, keep close to your son, holding him with comforting arms...
Thoughts and prayers for healing.

I am so very sorry for your loss. There is never a way to understand why these horrible accidents happen. Your son is very lucky to have you as a mother.

I will keep you and your community in my prayers.

keeping you and your community in our thoughts and prayers. We've seen way too much of this type of tragedy lately.

What a terrible tragedy!!! My heart goes out to you and your community...tragedies like this are not for us to understand but find comfort in knowing that it is all part of a bigger plan that we have no control over. Memories will help sooth the hearts and minds of those around you and comfort your sorrows.

I am in Michigan and heard the news. I have a 17 year old son and I know that this is a parents worst nightmare come true. I will be praying for all those who were involved in the accident ,and those left behind. May God and his angels be with them.

Wishing you all the best. Our thoughts and Prayers are with all involved and affected by this tragedy. Makes me really appreciate my 16 yr. old son a lot more when I hear of these events. Sincerely mrflowermarket:squish::squish::squish:

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes. Sadly, for the last 10 years or so, we have lost students, usually at least one senior. To lose three at the same time; I think we are all just in shock. This has been horrible for adults, let alone kids! This is all parents worst nightmare. Last summer when my son went away to camp for a month, I missed him so much! I can not imagine him never coming home.
Thankfully, last night he seemed much better. He says he is sad that his friends lost their lives and he will never see them again, but he feels better. I told him everyday he will get better and eventually he will be able to think good things about his friends without so much pain. All I can do is be there for him when he needs me and continue to pray for everyone who is affected by this tragedy, especially the parents and siblings of these boys.
