for pete sake what did i get myself into????

I have a bride wants a silk wedding bouquet.. with callas and can you make it heart shaped.

I think hey why not....

now i'm trying to put it together and do you think i can get it to look balanced...

I am now stepping way far away from that design bench and going to re think it before I destroy these calla lilies!

any suggestions???

I was trying to do it holder free but maybe I need a base to work off?

I tried making a long strand of callas . 2 of them and tieing at the point and gathering at the top... its not going well.....

next idea?

Melissa,

Is it supposed to be an open heart or solid? What size callas, the large? How many callas? When you say you can't balance it, do you mean you can't get the two sides the same shape?

I would dig out a heart, any heart that is the right overall size or make a cardboard template and lay it down on the workspace. Then shape the flowers to fit within that template. Are the stems hollow to allow threading a heavy gauge wire through?

YOU ARE BRILLIANT!! a template is a great idea! Its mini callas so they are not to bad to work with.. I priced it out with 20 so iI have lots to work with. yes they are hollow stemed with heavy wire running thru.... edit yes its an open heart.. I will have lunch and look at it again after lunch.

well i got it done.. and i think i even like it!
I will look it over again tomorrow, finish up the silk bouts for the wedding and call the bride in to look it over. I have 29 fresh corsages to make for this wedding too! its in sept.
