In today's mail, I recieved another credit card solicitation. What made this so different is that it read:
"The goal was simple: provide a credit card program for members of Florist's Transworld Delivery so superior to existing premium cards it would establish a new standard of excellence. Now, by responding to this exclusive invitation, you may experience all the benefits of the Florists Transworld Delivery Platinum Plus MasterCard credit card from Bank Of America.
AS A MEMBER, YOU'LL FIND THAT USING THE PLATINUM PLUS MASTERCARD HELPS GENERATE FUNDING IN SUPPORT OF THE FLORISTS TRANSWORLD DELIVERY. BANK OF AMERICA MAKES A CONTRIBUTION WHEN YOUR NEW ACCOUNT IS OPENED AND WHEN THE ACCOUNT IS RENEWED. AND THEY'LL MAKE AN ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTION EVERY TIME THE CARD IS USED TO MAKE A PURCHASE."
Think about it they are asking florists to get this credit card so that FTD will get contributions based on what florists spend, LIKE FTD IS A CHARITY. Second, I don't belong to FTD, but the idea of FTD getting funds because of this credit card is crazy.
