Our prayers go out to the families affected by Hurrican Gustav. Thankfully, the damage was far lass than Katrina, but it appears the area will be recovering for a while. More than a million Louisiana residents are currently without electricity or fresh water.

I hope FC members in the affected areas will check in and let us know they're OK. Hero, FatCat Flowers, jnichols, kalisue and others??? - let's hear from you.

Things OK in Southwest MS

Things are great in Southwest MS. We have a few thousand residents and businesses without power...No Major Damage Though!!! Thank God! We regained power a few hours ago. Your right...nothing like Katrina. We were without power for 3 1/2 weeks.

Sending thoughts for flood waters to recede quickly.
Stay safe!

I was just thinking about all of you last night, while watching the news.

Fatcat, I hope you took the proceeds from your cancelled wedding and headed to a posh resort somewhere dry!!!:tunes:

I hope everyone is ok!!!!!!

Hope you guys are all ok...Hero, FatCat all of you! ..let us know...we are sitting here watching the alphabet soup of storms swirling around just waiting to see which one heads towards south fl...So far I think we are up to the "i's" plus a few numbers....
Take care all you La'folks and Miss...watch out for my favorite slot place in Biloxi for me!

my new joke

Thank you for your thoughts and well wishes. We all evacuated early and successfully, and are enjoying our time away.

Here is my new joke:

What is the difference between an evacuation and a vacation

…. About 8 feet of water….

We hope to travel safely back this weekend, but are enjoying the hospitality of Memphis for the moment.

My wedding for this weekend cancelled and my wholesaler managed to sell almost all the flowers for me, but we seem to be full steam ahead for next weekend - 3 out of 3 confirm they are on.

But it will be a long drive home!

It appears that Baton Rouge really got hit hard by Gustav:

I spoke with Hero yesterday and his shop is closed due to the extensive damage Heroman's encountered from the storm. Damages in the 100K range.

He could sure use some FC friendship now...so send him a message of concern and support!

I go on a mission trip every year to Bay St. Louis, MS, just outside New Orleans. Keep these sweet people in your prayers. The church will not rebuild until the area residents have homes again. They recieved a fair amount of damage and their work is now delayed 2-3 weeks. For info, go to rebuildlakeshore.com. Everyone is the area is in our thoughts and prayers...Also, remember everyone on the east coast. Looks like it's coming!
