Hydrangea help...

I am making a funeral piece that is a football, the black sections of the football have been replaced with blue hydrangea (man city fan) Can I trim the edges of the hydrangea to neaten the shapes or will they go brown. Any tips please!

They will turn brown. There was a little nubby thing on the end of a calla lily in the last bridal bouquet that I did so I cut it off and if left a brown spot..thank goodness it was at the bottom of the bouquet!! I would taper them from the bottom by cutting off the florets themselves.
