In August we lost a soldier from our hometown, killed in Afghanistan. We were contacted by a very nice young man at Ft Bragg to send a tribute from the 1st PSYOP BN (A) 4th Group that entailed several emails with attachments, approvals etc. over the course of several days. We also sent him links to our local news bureaus and a digital image of the tribute they sent. It was a pleasure working with this young man. ( After the service I received several emails and calls thanking us for everything we did and boy did that make a person feel good )
Well I received a call today from him asking me if I had received from them a letter of appreciation and commendation from their group to thank me for my help and service. It had been sent 3 weeks ago
AND NO I haven't - the dang post office at it's finest!!!!!.
BUMMER . That would be one piece of paper I'd want to post over my desk as a reminder that there are people who appreciate us!
