After 26 plus years in the floral industry............Where I am at now......I work a schedule........and the posted schedule has me OFF WORK on the weekend of VALENTINES !!!!!! I almost passed out when I saw that.

For 26 Valentines holidays I have spent it in the trenches, making everybody else happy.......and dag-nab-it, now that I have the day off from work.......I am freaking single now !!!

So, I am going out of town for the holiday weekend........I am treating myself to something fun.
 
thanks Rick for giving us a look into our crystal ball of the future. ha ha.

26 years of having my hands tore up by rose thorns, 26 years of wires being jammed into fingers, 26 plus years of slashed thumbs from floral knives, ripping the fleshy part of your hand on leatherleaf box staples, whiny, gripy customers wanting to know why their roses aren't there.......you look on the delivery sheet and see they are signed for.....delivered......you tell the guy, and they say "WELL WHY AIN'T SHE CALLED ME"............ At least once in my life, I'm leaving the fun to ya'll.

..........should I add......to the list of fun, fun, fun.......with such things as getting drenched because that vase of roses tipped over while you were reaching for something else....taking five more vases with it......leaving you and your clothes drenched in ice cold water, lugging bucket after bucket of water and flowers.......co-workers getting snippy because their just as tired as you are......NAAAAAAAH

We know how crazy the holiday is..........we don't need any reminders of the craziness that is VD Day. ( so nicknamed, because according to a nurse/designer I know.....the incidence of VD always increases during that time.......wonder why )

I never get snippy! If everyone just does what I say to do- it's all good, and everyone is happy!

Hey Rick,
Run like hell and have fun! When my shop burned down in 1987, I actually went and worked for another florist on Valentine's Day! Whatever was I thinking? Don't listen to your ~friends~ here...they can't stand the thought of you being happy on Valentine's Day!
