This was our first Mother's Day without the wire services. It was the first holiday ever. We had an amazing Mother's Day. Friday we were so busy and down a designer (she had to attend a funeral and did not get in until 1). We could not have done everything we did and the wire service. We started getting the "are you still taking deliveries for Mother's Day" calls on Friday afternoon. This usually means that some of the other shops in town are saying NO to that question.
Our drivers had full loads all day up until 5pm on Friday. On Saturday we slowed down in the afternoon but still topped L/Y numbers. We sent one designer home at 2, one at 3, and the counter help at 4. One driver was done by 3 the other finished up a few that had not been home earlier in the day and was done by 4:30. We were out the door and at dinner by 5:15!!
We had some flowers left over this year that we had not had before, but we did not adjust the flower order and that mistake will be corrected next year. We are sitting good for Monday once the reinforcements (roses, gerbs, carns) come in.
I just can't tell you how happy we all were not having the dove spitting out orders all over. We got so many orders from our new Stride site. The JH images and products really ROCKED!! We even had some of the big ticket items sell, one was $176, one for $114, and one for $95!!! All with our own prices and product figured making it easy to fill it to value and make for happy customers. We had very few of the small round bowl sell this year, last year we did soooo many of those. Even though we added our own Mom's day to our TF site they sold so much better on our own website, not sure why, could be the price points or styles this year. So many calls saying "I'm looking at your website" and we did not have to grimace wondering what on earth we were going to do if we did not have the flowers. Amazing how great it all went.
I highly recommend this to everyone. I can't say it enough we LOVED it. So little stress, so little mess, and no angry calls.
