I'm coming home from picking up my daughter...two cars in front is a SUV with runningboards...well their kid was walking then notices their car so he runs up. this SUV is now blocking the flow of traffic so the kid hops onto the running boards and holds on while the SUV is driving....this mom proceeds to drive past two streets...she knows he's there because hse stops in a clear area to let him in. I was ticked at this point notice there's motorcycle cop behind me and I proceed to wave him around me. He pulls up and I let him know what I just saw...he asks the SUV and I say Yes!! So he proceeds to race ahead an pull her over..

SCORE!!! I hope she got a big fat ticket...endangering a child like that(probably 9), teaching him the worng thing PLUS ALL the other kids that were walking and seeing this...thinking hey that's fun and it's ok his mom is letting him. What an IDIOT!!

Ok rant over!!:fdevil::fdevil::fdevil:

Just a couple of weeks ago, a woman was arrested a couple of cities over from me. Her and her son had gotten into an argument and she tried to drive away. The son got on top of her car, she knew he was there and continued to drive with him there. Fortunately, different drivers who were witnessing this called the police. They said on the news she drove at least a full mile with him up there. It makes me sick that some of these people call themselves mothers!

OMG!!! THAT is insane!!!

You haven't ever done this? I have

I also remember standing on the front seat between my Mother and her sister where the seat belt was her arm.

Sorry, the kid from the sixties has to chuckle a bit. We rode on tailgates, open pickups (on the sides)., on dad's lap, no seat-belts, three in front seat, four in back seat, and immigrant style in the way back, we held onto bumpers while on our bikes, skates. How in the H-E-double hockey sticks did we ever survive.

Exactly what I was thinking - I also rode on the hood of the car before.

Call the FBI.

Bloomz,

A few years ago, I saw a woman get into an accident while breast feeding her baby.
Baby got thrown throught he window.

A couple days later, I was doing a baby casket spray. Really REALLY sad, and messed me up too.

to me, what that mom did-allowing her son to ride on the running boards barely hanging on by the car door handle-was idiotic. In a not so wide street, with cars parked on both sides to where only one car can pass...it was very easy for him to be knocked off, thrown under the wheels or smashed up against the other cars because some a-hole decides he wants to push his way through and shove mom over....seen it happen many times on this street. I don't think it's a wise thing to do not only with your own kid but showing all the other kids around "how cool" it is.

I'm not worried about anyone here thinking I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. When you've seen more than your fair share of children hurt by idiotic parents one develops a very low tolerance for stupid parents. I, too, rode around the back of a pickup without any restraint and I was also put atop a very "hot" horse at a young age...did anything bad happen no but could have. No one knows what's going to happen to them. Do you ever think you'll be burying your son thinking he's playing safely in the backyard? It happens....he was my cousin.

Something bad can always happen. This wasn't the brightest thing, but it doesn't make her a bad mother.

I'm from the live and let live school of thought.

Yes something bad can always happen...will I tempt fate with a child NOPE! I didn't say she was a bad mother, idiotic-YES.

Live and let live only goes so far...people need to be held accountable for stupid, endangering or vicious behavior that affects others. Her action certainly falls in that category. At least she will remember never to do it again even if she didn't get a ticket.

So you'll never give your kid a bath, chewable food, try out a new detergent. Let 'em climbe trees, swim in the ocean, ride a bike alone, so on and so forth? And I'm a little confused:which catagory did she fall into, supid, vicious or endangering?

She fell in to stupid!! I think you're being a little bit extreme with your examples...I certainly am not lashing at a person who decided to feed their kid sugar cereal as opposed to cheerios. C'mon don't make me out to be like I am THAT kind of person.

So you're telling me the majority of people think it is perfectly fine to allow a 9 y.o boy ride on the runningboards of a huge suv going down the street at 20+mph??

If stupidity was a crime, many of us would be in trouble.

Who was she vicious too?

And endangering is in the eye of the beholder.

My point is many of us make poor judgement calls, including judging others. Again, I'm for live and let live. JMHO

Stupidity with regard to the safety of a child is certainly a crime in my eyes!! This has nothing to do with judging someone on their personality...this has to do with an action that could have resulted in the harm of a child. JMHO If she wants to hang onto the side of a car going down the road sure live and let live...she's an adult!! She can make that decision for herself. ALLOWING a child to do it is wrong and I for one am glad I was someone who spoke up instead of being passive about it so as not to hurt the mom's feelings and make her feel as though she's a bad mother. HECK YA!! WAKE UP!! SEE what you have just done! It's not acceptable by any means.....that's my stance.

Ease up a bit. Chill. Just saying, there are three sides to every story, yours, hers, and the truth.

Well it wouldn't be a day in the life of America if there was no stupid...

We used to "mush" when we were kids..

This is done ine the hills of the northeast during a snow storm....

you run up to a car and grab the bumper, crouch down and have the cra drag you around like you were on a dog sled....

Smart definately not, fun definately...until someone gets seriously hurt that is....

What can you do police the world...deal with it people will always do stupid crap and make stupid decisions....you can't correct everyone..

I agree that the mother you saw was being stupid in regard to the safety of her child. I did stupid, dangerous things as well when I was a kid, but that is the point. I was just a kid. All kids do stupid things that can hurt them. They never think anything bad is going to happen to them. It is the parents responsibility to teach their children what could happen if they act foolishly and hope they make good choices. To actually let your child do it, that is something I would never do but that is just my opinion.
