So Terri, another FC member, sent me a copy of "Making Arrangements"
I think some one else had started a thread about it a while back, I think it was Tracy. Anyhoo- It was really cute.

Terri would like to have it be our roving movie. SO if ya wanna see it, as soon as my girls at the shop get done seeing it, I will send it to you BUT ONLY if you pass it along to another FC member, OR send it back to me!! So let me know who wants to see it!

Anyway,
The FIRST thing I notice is the delivery van has an Oklahoma license plate. But I think, well, maybe not...

Then as I am watching the movie I tell my husband, "Man, that looks like the inside of New Leaf Floral"
He says "What's that?"
I wanna watch the movie so I say "never mind"
Then when the delivery driver is driving around I tell my husband "huh, that looks like Nichols Hills"
Hubby says nothing.

At one point they drive up to a funeral home, and I say "I think that is Bill Merritt funeral home!"
Hubby says nothing.

So I waited and watched the credits thinking maybe the answers would be there.

Well, I'll be-
Guess what?
It was filmed at New Leaf Floral! It was filmed in Oklahoma City! That was Nichols Hills!!
Not sure if it was Bill Merritt FH, but it sure looked like it!

I never worked at New Leaf Floral, But it's a pretty nice shop. I have been in there ONCE, yes ONCE and I remembered. Hubby and I went there many moons ago. But when I went there they had a bed in the middle of the shop, I thought that was cool. they are in Nichols Hills which is a really fancy part of OKC.
But isn't that crazy? That I would recognize the inside of that shop. And my old stomping ground, that was an extra bonus!

So thanks, Terri!:yourock:

iirc New Leaf was mentioned in the credits.

and we think there's drama here - nothing compared to the shop in the movie! I thoroughly enjoyed it - Clay sent it to me a while ago.

Hey Shannon, glad you enjoyed it. I hope it does get passed around FC. I was a little surprised that each designer had their "own" clients & they were so cut throat with each other. I think it's a must see for a good laugh at our industry.

Well, they condensed all the drama to a 3 day period, but I think we've had most of that in our shop. Including the stealing of flowers between designers (although no one has ever gone to the funeral home to steal back their flowers!). I loved the movie, it had me laughing so hard. So did everyone else in the shop, except one staff member who can't abide swearing.

Yep,
I watched the credits to see if the shop that it was filmed in was mentioned, and that's how I knew it was New Leaf. And then everything else just made sense.
I just thought it was funny that it was filmed in a city that I love so much and living there did wonders for my career.
