I love social media and think it's deffinatly the way the future will be to connect with your local markets. I always hated the tacky look of FB and how it was set up and silly super pokes, sign this petition and such, so I created my own social network for chocolate and wine lovers... and for my chocolate club. :) poshCircle is a social network that connects chocolate and wine lovers through events and their favorite boutiques.

I have been working on it for about an year now, and I just took it out of beta tonight. Time to tell the world about it. I know it's a small market compared to the big boys, but it's more specific to my market and the feel is a lot more comfortable than FB or MS.

If you know anyone who loves wine or chocolate.. or who is in the business who can use it to better brand their business, it's free and a great way to be progressive in an era of social media.

Wow, you seem to be all up in FB.

Elmo, I believe the future will be divided up into niche social networks. FC being one of them. I came to this assumption because ones passion in life trumps connecting with old friends and family online (FB).

A sports guy will be more happier on a sports social network, a fishing/hunter person will find more value on a fishing/hunting social network. And again.. FC brings more value as a social network than FB does to florists.

Just because FB is one of the first and the biggest, doesn't mean anything. I can point to Netscape and many others who also had the 'I'll never fall' attitude because they were the biggest.

Oh and also, I'm just jealous. :) But come on... your biz is worth 5 billion and your look is college boy blue with uncreative stylistic boxes? I guess when you're that big, you can look any way you want. :)

Cathy.... I wanted to add fine flowers so bad, but it just doesn't go as well when you build it around events. Chocolate and wine are like peas in a pod when it comes events and markets... if I were to say chocolate, wine and flowers, it gets weird.

The market of fine wine, chocolate and flowers are parallel I know, but this is more about events. How many florists would really use it to add value to an online relationship and events? Not many. But I know there is a HUGE need for a site like mine in the wine and chocolate world.

Thanks for the compliment, coming from you means a lot.
