Does anyone have a pic of Vietnam war memorial wreath???
Is there a certain way they are supose to be done??

also I need to know about a Korean war memorial wreath

these will be little tiny 12" wreaths for a memorial day ceremony. I did them last year but I wasn't pleased with how they looked.
I know the Vietnam wreath has yellow in it, not too sure about the Korean one.

I can't find a pic online and frankly, I don't have time to search. I am desperate! If you could put a link on here for me I will be forever grateful.

SO PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP ME, I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!

Here's the Vietnam Veterans Logo and a Korean War Memorial wreath:

That's awesome! Thanks!

So do you think the Vietnam one should have the red and yellow stripes in the center like that? And the Korean one has green aroud the edges, then yellow then white on the inside?

Hummm......

If anyone has any other please share, I'd like to see as many as possible to try and figure it all out.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Shannon:
We do the Korean War Vets tribute several times a year. They have always just requested that we do Reb/White/Blue (no yellow, nothing else) In our case, the wreath is left on display for quite some time.....

(Plus, these guys are older, so they may not remember what the significance of the yellow means!)

We use a large, 26-28" grapevine wreath for the base for the longer lasting ones. We use the large open Oasis rings for the fresh pieces. We typically use a carnation & batchelor botton or statice type of thing.

The ribbons are always red/white/blue.

Hope this helps!

Cheryl

I think the the yellow with red stripes symbolizes the old Vietnam flag.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with just using red, white and blue.

Yes,
they specifically asked for the yellow in it, and also with rw&b bows, I just want to make certain I am putting the yellow in the right way and in the right spot.

Sometimes the color yellow is used to symbolize support for those still at war. However, I don't think that this is the case for this. I'm assuming the customer didn't say why they wanted some yellow in it. I think it has to do with the Vietnam Veterans symbol/flag. Attached is an image with more specific meanings:

Sorry nothing on the Korean War (other than the one pic I already posted). I can tell you that my Grandpa served in the Korean War and I think he'd be happy with red, white and blue.

Shannon:
Before you get too carried away....remember....the stuff LJVF showed you on the Vietnam Vets relates to the FLAG Symbol.

You are creating a WREATH to honor them -- you ARE NOT recreating the flag.

You would actually be doing a disservice to the Vietnam Vets to attempt to create a wreath in this likeness, unless it is to certain dimensions, etc and flag shaped.
(This courtsey of the head of a local Vietnam Vet group here.)

Hope this helps,
Cheryl

well, all I was told last year was to do red and yellow, I just wasn't sure how to apply the colors.

My dad did 2 tours in Vietnam, one of which was search and recovery, too scary to imagine. That is why I am super sensitive about doing this right.

Use the colors of the Ribbon!

As long as you incorporate the colors of the service ribbon, you're honoring the vets from those Wars.

In the case of the Vietnam War, that ribbon's colors are Green, Yellow, and Red.

In the case of the Korean War, those colors are Green, White, Yellow, and Blue.

Really doesn't matter what shape you create, although the most popular veteran's memorial tribute, is in the form of a wreath.

And, there is no written rule, as to just how you incorporate the colors of that war's service ribbon, only that you use those colors in conjunction with the percentages, as is depicted on those ribbons.

Semper Fi!

TOTO said it much better than I did...cause I had just taken an ear beating from my favority Vietnam Vet (I should have not asked!).

The Colors are what is important. When you recreate flag, the Vets tell me that it has to have all the stuff, as shown in the Flag or Patch that was shown earlier. Thus the confusion. (You don't want to go there!)

Let's just say that I too am sensative to our wonderful Vets, and would not want you, me or anyone who has not served to show disrespect.

Thankfully as always,
Cheryl
