I was surprised when I read the article. Seems there were only 3 McDonald's in Iceland anyway and they insisted on importing all their products rather than using the local stuff.
I'm a Burger King guy and their $1 double cheeseburger is a better deal anyway as it tastes much better too.
Just a scary example of what inflation can do to your currency when a government starts printing money for bills their can't pay for.
Keep up with the double cheeseburgers Toto and all the money the government can print won't save you from the inflation of the pot belly.:rofl:
I saw a documentary on Iceland a few years ago - they import EVERYTHING. An interesting side-effect of this is that they all speak English (from reading product labels).
The only thing they export is power - generated by some underground heat source. Oh, and of course Bjork and The Sugarcubes.
