Yesterday I got a bit more hands on in my house remodel....

I helped my husband install and over the stove microwave/hood....

and I measured and cut the trim for my windows in the kitchen....

I'm pretty good and considering a change in careers...

Good for you!!! Remember..measure twice, cut once and hopefully not any limbs! :)

You're welcome V!! It makes me happy knowing I've made someone smile today!

Ooo, I LOVE power tools! I don't always tell hubby - he doesn't share well. Actually, I think he thinks I'm going to cut off something by mistake. He's sometimes sorry he ever showed me how to use his drill, let alone the chop saw ;)

I am soooo glad I shadowed my dad a lot growing up...I've done so many things on my own that I don't ever feel like something is too hard for me. If that makes sense? I've installed brakes on a car, changed flat tires, installed a stone walkway, recently new dead bolts and door handles....the list goes on. I'm just really glad that my dad took the time to show me these things and the tools needed for the job...the Lord knew I was gonna need it.

Me too Aileen...I followed my Dad around with every house project...My husband has called me his little builder for years..

I ask for power tools one year for Christmas, all I got was laughed at.
So I buy my husband what we both may need.HEHE. New couch, new chair,
bedding..... new bar stools.... why should I not benefit too? hehe:tunes:

Way to go Lori & Aileen!!!! I can't understand these women that won't change a light bulb, let alone check the oil or put air in a tire.

If there is someone around to do it for me , no I don't do the cars or what ever, or cut grass.Pleased to know I can tho, wanted my girls to learn a stick
shift too, even if their cars didn't have it... never wanted them to feel they couldn't. So what did I not teach my girls.... how long to cook eggs for egg salad!!
Must explain, son-in-law works for John Deer... so his ma-in-law should not even, I feed him well too.hehe

I got a palm sander for one of my birthdays years ago...loved it! Also learned how to drive a standard on a 1974 Cherry Red Dodge Dart, stick shift, separate reverse, and learned how to parallel park our black Ford van using mirrors (no back windows, you know the old bed in the back vans? LOL The van killed itself by burning too much oil...).

Dorothy, OMG...my dad had a Ford Van..it was AWESOME! I loved that thing although we had windows they were tinted! the van died and had been in the garage for years. I begged my dad to let me buy it from him and fix it up when I got married. He wouldn't have it...well a few years ago he donated it. I was BUMMED! I really wanted it.
