Google has a office in Cambridge and for the second time I was fortunate to attend a chamber event at their office. The presentation was on Google analytics and adwords. The staff that presented works with agencies. Very nice presentation by enthusiastic employees. Got to talk to the employees before and after. One employee sent me this link today about displaying phone numbers in adwords adds. It adds an extra line to your adds. It was mentioned that consumer are typing in longer search queries. If you can add these to your adwords account the cost can be less as there is less competition for them. They demonstrated in the interface how to see keywords that are searched an percentages for them in analytics. They used there google store for the demonstration.
In discussion before the event I mentioned that I don't like content match. I was told ROI is lower with content match the adwords. They have made improvements to the site. It was recommended to set up a separate keyword list for content match and only show in usa. (ok I guess Canada would be ok) You can actually pick the sites you want to display your adds on and create and add with a free tool. I might give it a try again. Like anything else it takes time. I was told to spend an hour a week.
