Have any of you ever used Iceburg roses?

P.S. I think I'm going to go crazy with these brides this year.

Oh heavens, I hate to be snarky, but that rose is that of a true garden rose, and it is a white one, you could actually get away with using that of a white spray rose, and not have issue's with the actual iceburg one's, they use to sell them at another grower who doesn't post on the board, when they get a little damp they have a tendency to get kinda blotchy, this rose was popular in the early 90's . YOu could also get that of a sweet rose, in a white, they are not that preety to use, they don't have a heavy petal count, don't hold well when picked, if going for a heavy petal count you could use amelia white, and let open, less problem, Did someone show this bride the old AFS book??? It was all over the place in there..

I agree with Queen, this is a rose that is not readily grown for cutflower use, is an old garden floribunda, drops petals and spots quickly. Does your bride just want a pure white garden spray rose?

jan

No Queen- no old AFS book.

She said it was a David Stark design.... whatever..

www.davidstarkdesign.com It's kind of an irritating website, and I can't actually find the picture of the arrangement, but the bride did print it up and I have a pic.
I'm not sure if it is his actual design or if she just think it looks like this guys stuff.

I saw a book for sale with bridal bouquets in it, but not just pics of bouquets.

This is the second time in about 6 months that some one has asked me about these roses. The first time I didn't even know what they were. I could tell they were some kind of rose, what I would have called a wild rose, but I have never worked with them.

If I gave this bride white spray roses, I think the MOB and the wedding planner would kill me. They are very specific about what they want.

Maybe I'll call Marie, she worked at AFS before it was TF, maybe she knows.

This is the only white bouquet I could find on his entire site...is this it?

no that's not it....

It has white daliahs, white iceburg roses, veronica, white scabiosa, camomile, dusty miller, and thyme.

Ok I know where this decription thing is from it was a feature thing from the wedding channel a few months back, and it is a true grande spray rose, heavens you can even us an eskimo or the later that looked in that pic, and tineko rose< That will do it> I don't like them cause they do spot, but that is the sub in that pic, that she had..

Thanks Queen, but I don't think so.
I can maybe count 15-16 petals on these roses in the pic. You can see their fuzzy centers, almost looks like helleborus.

so after hours and hours I found them a few places

Most places wanted $20 for 10 stem bunch

Mayesh only wants $6 for a 10 stem bunch.

However every single person told me that they do not ship well, and the risk is totally on me. IOW, no matter how they look when I get them, I have to pay, no credits will be issued.

I sure hope the bride will agree to something else.

(((((((sigh)))))))))
