My neice's boyfriend and his band are having a CD release party in early June. I have volunteered to help come up with some decor and could use any creative ideas you may have!

The venue is a bar-very rustic with logs and fieldstone. The actual stage will be set up outside and I'm not sure about what kind of tents yet.

The band's name is 4th Floor.

They play mostly hard rock-a lot of classic hard rock as well as all their own stuff. This is their second studio CD-they're not signed with a label and have sunk a lot of money into producing the CD-so there isn't a lot in the budget. I'm not doing this as a paying job-just as a family thing. These four guys have a lot of talent and I really hope they make it.

The name of the new CD is "Newton's Cradle" and the cover is a picture of one of the Newton's "clackers"-you know one of those perpetual motion things with the balls on the strings-but the clacker on the CD cover is made from gnarly twigs (kind of like manzanita) and the balls are actually apples.

So-I'm thinking of using a lot of apples and branches and twigs. I think it should be simple and maybe a bit dark. Their name is done in a Goth type font. Some of the photos on the inside of the CD are of the band done in a sepia that looks really old. I was thinking of having some of them blown up and put in some old, beat up antique frames.

Any ideas? I would appreciate any and all!!

thanks,
Sandy

Make it easy! Black magic roses, red delicious apples, and some birch in low containers. You can find those black low plastic containers just about anywhere...they look like ceramic because they have a matte finish but they are really plastic.

The roses you can get cheap, apples cheap, but the look is really high end.

Since you're doing this gratis, I'd make it as easy as possible on yourself :>
